Apple Furniture Service owner-operator Tom Neis got his start working with old country craftsman, learning his craft first hand from master woodworkers.
Over the years, Tom also worked in several other shops, learning different skills, perfecting his woodworking, and furthering his craft.
Initially, Tom founded Apple Furniture Service in 1982. And 31 years later, Tom is not finished learning. Since founding Apple Furniture, he has tirelessly worked to perfect his own techniques for furniture finishing, furniture repair, new cabinet making, touch ups, furniture restoration, and so much more.
Tom and his expertly trained craftsmen take great pride in offering you, the customer, the highest quality products around.
Tom is an expert, helpful and courteous. Apple provided beautiful restoration of our solid wood dining room set including fabrication of missing molding and pieces.

We are now on our fourth project with Tom. For the first one, he came to our home to take a look at the mid-50s dining room set we had inherited from my parents. After some sixty years of family use, it had become worn and tired looking, and had turned a strange color. Tom asked us how we would like it to look (e.g., formal or casual), took a look at the rest of the dining room and adjacent living room, and gave us a couple of suggestions for finishes that would coordinate with the rest of our home. He then assured us he could make it beautiful again, including re-caning several of the seatbacks.
He invited us to stop by his shop to watch the progress, and then to see some stain color options on the wood itself. It was like discovering buried treasure. The results are spectacular. When my 87 year old mother saw it, she got teary-eyed. Tom is a true artist, and a gentleman. We happily engaged him for two additional projects (which, though quite smaller than the dining room set, had spectacular results as well). The fourth project he currently has is from my afore-mentioned mother! Tom knows, too, that the next big project from us is to tackle the 1930s era bedroom set we inherited from my GRAND-parents. (Yes, we have bought the occasional new piece of furniture during our 30+ years of marriage, but the heirlooms are way more interesting. And our kids already have their “tags” on them. They’ll have to wait a while…)
Don’t hesitate to go with Tom. You won’t regret it.

Apple Furniture Service saved my Christmas dinner! After cracking the legs on my new dining room table while trying to move it, I was literally in tears. They were able to squeeze me in for an appointment within a day. I really appreciate Thomas taking the time to explain everything to me and his process for repairing the table. The table looks brand new and is actually more stable than before. Thomas, is so kind and professional, I am so grateful for his help and will recommend him to all of my friends and family!
